Love this movie
A great 4k transfer of a classic film. It's a must own.

The original vacation never never ends.
The original Vacation movie never gets old, no matter how 100s of times you watch over and over with the kids and now the grand kids. It's never lost it's humor even when you know what's going to happen next. It was good watching it on screen at the theater, VHS, better on DVD, than along came Blu-ray making it even better than before, now I have it on 4K Ultra HD which has outstanding video and audio. It's like having the whole family vacationing in your living room, eating your popcorn, drinking your soft drinks, and laughing at themselves. I now own the movie on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K. Does that mean I really liked the humor in the movie?

Great 4K Restoration!
The movie doesn't need any review, we know how good is is, the question is... how is the 4K restoration? This movie looks amazing on 4k, it's a huge improvement from bluray in picture quality, the audio is a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono, which delivers, I don't believe this movie needed an a Atmos mix(although it would've been appreciate), but the dialogue and music it's clear. The only downside of this release is that it doesn't include any of the extras from the bluray, just the commentary track, and this release doesn't include the bluray, so if you have it, you might want to keep it.
