Makes me look great!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This is the best camera I have ever owned. The pictures are great. we used it on a trip out to Moab, UT to take night photos. 1st time doing that too. I was given the camera setting to use by a friend in order to shoot the milky way. ISO was supposed to be 1800, but I made the mistake of setting it at 180. Well, the camera shot was awesome at 180 ISO. Hmm... not sure how that worked, but it did. Day shots and low-light shots are great/fantastic. I have noticed that the bright light shots are too light on auto. It performs much better on manual with some slight adjustments to tone down the pic. Keep in mind that the older or cheaper DX lenses don't really work on this camera. I bought a 28mm to 300mm Nikon VR lense that is perfect. Shot the night sky with a 1.8f 35 mm lens.

Nice camera needs fine tuning
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I originally purchased the Z6 and I was not happy with that camera. And I took it back in and exchanged it for the Z7 that has better MP. I have shot with this camera and it is good for video it is good for standing still but there needs to be a little bit of work done to focus from the back screen as it doesn’t have like a vibration control and the pictures do not come out sharp while being handheld.

Great Camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. After much research and hands on experience at my Best Buy, I decided to purchase the Nikon Z7. While I am still learning how to unleash the power and potential of this camera, so far I am thrilled! The fact that I am easily use all my F mount lenses with this camera is a real plus, especially since I like to photograph wildlife and need a good zoom lens.

Amazing Images - No Autofocus On Some Lenses
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I've had this camera for a few days and can't say enough about the image quality. Probably the best Nikon has produced. My only complaint so far is that there is no autofocus motor built into the camera body like I had on my D610. What that means is that my D series Nikon lenses lost their auto focus capability. So now I have to work on my focusing skills, which is a challenge with my old eyes. So if you have D series or older lenses with no autofocus motor in the lens, you will have to manually focus with those lenses.

Excellent first MILC for Nikon!
||Posted .I own a Nikon D850 and have a bunch of expensive lenses, so getting the Z7 with the FTZ adapter was something I was looking forward to. It took a couple days of testing to get really comfortable with the Z7 because some things are different from the DSLRs, but many things are the same, so it isn't a completely new experience if you have used a Nikon DSLR from the last 10 years. Most of the controls are there, they just may be in different menu locations. The displays, including the EVF are amazing. Seeing the exposure in the EVF before you take the shot helps so much in manual mode as the meter may under/over expose a little when you really want to nudge the exposure the other way, I like to get as close as possible to the final image from the camera, even though I always shoot RAW (NEF). So far, I took both my D850 and the Z7 to Las Vegas with the idea that I would focus on the Z7 and use the D850 if required. Well, I didn't even pull the D850 out of my bag. I used my Z7 the whole time and never found that I was lacking anything. That said, I would probably still use my D850 for a lot of the fast action images like sports, at least for now. I don't think I'm comfortable enough with the Z7 for extremely fast action shots.

Excellent Camera, It does not disappoint
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I have owned the Nikon Z7 for a couple of weeks now and could not be more impressed. The build is very sturdy and the grip feels great in my hand. - Resolution: The Z7's 45.7MP sensor captures HUGE images with incredible detail. - Dynamic Range: The dynamic range of the Z7 is incredible. When pulling up blacks from an underexposed image or dark area in an image, the detail is preserved with very little noise. - ISO Range: The ISO range is very capable on the Z7. With a range from 64-25600 and extended ranges of (Max) 10240 (Min) 32. I am able to capture crisp clean images in well-lit situations and am able to push the ISO beyond where I ever have before and still have acceptable images. The cameras high resolution also helps, reducing the size of the pixels creates a smaller noise field. - Z mount: Admittedly I do not own a Z-mount capable lens yet. However, I am able to use FTZ mount adaptor and use all of my F-mount lenses with autofocus. The only lens I am not able to use auto-focus on is my Tamron 150-600. However, I am able to manually focus it and still produce excellent results. Some Features I love: - Focus Peaking: While in manual focus mode the camera shows you where your focus point is by outlining the areas in a color you choose. This is very handy when shooting macro shots or wide landscape shots to make sure your focus is where you want it. - Delayed exposer: You are able to choose from .2 to 3 seconds to delay the time between pressing the shutter release button and when the shutter actuates. This is extremely handy when capturing long exposer images. I almost never carry my remote with me anymore. - Live View: "Live View" shows you how your camera settings affect the image on the back display and in the viewfinder, effectively reducing the number of sample photos taken to get the exposure you want. You are able to turn "Live View" off if it does not suit your style or in low light situations. - Auto Focus Points: With 493 autofocus points you are able to choose virtually any point in the frame to focus on. What I don't love: - Battery life: Although it is not great it is the worst I have seen. I am able to get by with only one battery (for now) without many issues. - Only one memory card slot: The XQD memory card that the Z7 uses is amazingly fast and reliable, it would just be nice to have that extra piece of mind with a back-up card. That being said I have not lost any images yet. - Overall: I could not be happier with my purchase. There are so many features and customization options that I will never be left wanting.
