Discovering the benefits of a tower fan

What is a tower fan?

Unlike box fans and floor fans, which are wide with long blades, tower fans are tall and narrow. Their slim design allows them to provide effective airflow while taking up little floor space. Most create airflow using multiple small internal fans. Some, however, like bladeless tower fans, use newer technology to achieve strong airflow without any physical blades at all.

Tower fans also frequently offer oscillation, meaning they can turn back and forth while running. An oscillating tower fan is able to send air across a wide area, even though it takes up very little physical space. It’s a great option for small rooms or a tight corner.

When you are choosing the best tower fan (or the best fan for your home more generally), make sure you pay attention to available features. A remote-control tower fan gives you the ability to change the speed or oscillation from wherever you are in the room. You may also appreciate the increased cooling available from a fan with temperature control.

Setting up a tower fan for maximum efficiency

To use your cooling tower fan most effectively, position the fan in such a way that it will move cooler air into a warmer space. If you have rooms in your home that get more shade, or you have a basement that stays cool, consider ways you can use your fan to pull that refreshing air into the warmer rooms.

A fan is a more energy-efficient (and often quieter) cooling method than an evaporative cooler or a portable air conditioner. It’s perfect if you are creating an energy-efficient home. A quiet tower fan can also be the perfect addition to your bedroom if you are working on getting a good night’s sleep on overly warm nights.

When you choose your new tower fan, make sure the cord will be long enough to reach an outlet from the place you plan to put it. If you have a tower fan that can be controlled through an app, you can install the app on your smartphone or other smart home device to control the fan from anywhere.
