A:AnswerIf you are going to play online multiplayer than you will need a Plus account. But you can play alone or couch co op just fine for plenty of items.
I have had it a month and play every day without doing online features. But there are multiplayer skirmish type of games that do require it that I am thinking would be worth getting Plus for.
A:AnswerThe official release date will be October 18th, however now through September 25th on the digital store fronts like PSN the Founders Pack is available, allowing early access to the full main game plus 6 weeks of pre release bonus material for everyone that purchases it. The game is available on PSN and the Xbox marketplace. I am not certain if they will allow cross platform play as of yet or not.
