Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I must be an idiot or what cause I spent the last hour trying to figure out why I couldn't pull the USB out (clearly its been a while since I used a USB). After looking at pictures in the reviews, realize you just PUSH it through the top. Biggest face palm of all time. Please include instructions on how to use This USB for idiots like myself. Thanks

Too thick for thin laptops
|Posted .This looked like a sweet deal online. What the pictures don't show is the weird curve at the end of the drive opposite to the USB connector which makes it too thick to use with my Surface Book or Macbook Air. Also, it comes stuck in a plastic sliding protective case (can't remove it without the risk of breaking the drive) which adds even more girth to this little fatty. Anyway, if you have an ultra-thin or tablet/keyboard configuration, it *will* bend the USB connector or mess up your computer's USB port with regular use. Check out the picture. You'd think that in a world of thin devices, mfg'rs would take this into account. I'll probably use this on a desktop or older (thicker) laptop at work.

A horrible, terrible, thing
|Posted .So, I bought this item expecting lightening fast transfers, in a compact form factor. What I got? A device that was registered as a USB 2.0 on both a Win10 machine and a Mac. When i attempted to reformat it on the Win10 machine, it appeared as 200MB. So yeah. I don't know if i got duped, or what, but this is purely disappointing.

Q: QuestionWhy is it only 120GB when you plug the drive in?I opened the package and plugged it into my USB 3.0 drive and it only reads 120GBs.
Asked by J.
- A:Answer The reason has to do with math and marketing. Humans think about numbers in base 10, the decimal numeral system. Computers, on the other hand, think in base 2, the binary numeral system. Herein lies the root of the issue. The “brilliant” marketing people at data storage companies decided early on that all their products should be marketed in the decimal system. Therefore, one megabyte on their products is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, and one gigabyte is equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes. To a computer, a megabyte is 1,048,576 bytes and a gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes. For each gigabyte advertised in base 10, you’re actually receiving about 70 megabytes less than a gigabyte in base 2. Imagine if they pulled that with things like gasoline...people would be livid. Hope that explains it...

Q: QuestionPC and Mac compatible back and forth? Can i copy/save photos/documents from a PC and open/read them on a Mac? And vice versa?

Q: Question1-reviews claim has a red led that lights up during activity- mine doesn't. 2-it was supposed to be formated as exFat...mine is Fat 32I just bought a PNY Turbo 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive - P-FD128TBOP-GE. according to reviews and other owners it has a red LED under the PNY sleeve that light up when active. Mine doesn't. It's supposed to be formatted as exFat, mine is formatted as Fat 32 It's not what I thought I was buying.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Try reformatting it and see if that doesn't take care of it. If you can save files to the flash drive and SEE the files on the drive, then I wouldn't worry about the light. That said, if you're unhappy with it, I believe you can just return it or trade at BB for a new one. All these flash drives unless otherwise marked are going to be formatted for Windows. But its easy to reformat to whatever you need...

Q: QuestionWhat are the real time data transfer numbers...example 90 mbpsPNY - Turbo Plus 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive - Black/Red Model: P-FD128TBLE-GE SKU: 9500102 Lightning fast USB 3.0 transfer speeds approximately 30 times faster than standard USB 2.0** What are the real time data transfer numbers...example 90 mbps
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer In some cases it depends on you PC's Front bus speed and how many things you have going on at one time, processor, type of data your transferring (I.E Compressed files) and how much separate data your trying to transfer at one time and because of your pc's settings. And of course the quality/brand of your USB device! To speed up your USB transfer follow these directions: Do a Windows Search for Device Manager, and open it. Expand the Disk Drives tree and locate the USB drive you’d like to improve (it must be plugged in to the PC). Double-click the drive’s icon and, in the window that appears, find the Policies tab. Click the “Better performance” button and then, underneath, check the “Enable write caching on the device” checkbox (some [Cheaper] devices don’t support this, however). Then click OK. The Universal Serial Bus should be able to transfer exactly 3.515625 gigabytes in exactly one minute (at a constant maximum theoretical speed). So yeah, the USB is by no means maxed out, but that is because the flash memory used in USB flash drives is not the fastest stuff on the planet :) Like I said, it depends on the manufacturer. To get a really fast USB drive that actually uses most or all of the theoretical 480mbps transfer speed, you'd be paying SIGNIFICANTLY more, for higher quality flash memory. I hope I've Helped:-)

Q: QuestionTurbo Plus or just TurboSeems like bestbuy miss labeled the product. PNY Turbo Plus is not the same as PNY Turbo
Asked by AC.
- A:Answer I have seen Best Buy and Amazon both incorrectly label some of these drives on their websites. I believe the drives with the RED sliding collar (not black or blue) are the Turbo Plus version. They supposidly have a faster read/write access time, but I personally don't think they are worth the extra cost. I buy the Turbo version from Best Buy when they are 40-60 percent Off, and they will pricematch Amazon too.

Q: QuestionWill this work on my iPhone 5?
Asked by Nancy.
- A:Answer I know this will not work on your iPhone this is specifically for a USB port on either a desktop computer or a laptop computer. You can also use this on a USB port in a car if you were to load it with music but nothing to do with the iPhone 5.
