Description
Features
Travel to the enchanting region of Kalos, a mysterious, star-shaped land full of beautiful forests, thriving cities and many never-before-seen Pokémon, centered around Lumiose City, whose tower is an iconic structure in the game
Catch and add an array of new Pokémon to your Pokédex — your most valuable assets in battle, which join the more than 640 Pokémon encountered thus far
Befriend Helioptile, a Normal- and Electric-type Pokémon, who generates enough electricity to power machinery — Helioptile's lack of bravery doesn't outweigh the Parabolic Charge move, during which Helioptile attacks everything around it
Acquire Fletchling, a Normal- and Flying-type Pokémon, who sings with a beautiful chirp and is very friendly, but releases relentless attacks in battle, including the Flame Charge move that, in addition to doing damage, increases Fletchling's speed
Unleash the Parting Shot move of Fighting-type Pokémon Pancham, which lowers an opponent's Attack and Special Attack, while allowing you to switch Pancham out for another Pokémon in your party during battle
Traverse the land by riding on new Pokémon Gogoat — this large Grass-type Pokémon is a reliable way to travel and uses the Horn Leech move to recover HP equal to half the damage dealt by his move

Pokemon for the New Decade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in elementary school when the Pokemon craze took off. I played Pokemon Blue probably at least 3 times through- which is one of the only games I've ever finished and replayed. After the original I didn't pay much attention to the franchise and lost interest. Twenty years later, filled with nostalgia I wanted to recapture the magic after finding I had some free time. After reading all the reviews from Gizmodo and Gamespot claiming the game resurrected the original franchise's best elements, I decided to buy it along with a 2DS. The gameplay is great, the 3D graphics are cool- much fancier than the 2D black and white version I played back in my day. I love seeing some of my favorite Pokemon (No Archenine or Nine-Tails though) back in action. The game is challenging enough to refer to walk-throughs, and seems a bit longer than the original. Overall, a great experience for new fans and old.

Great addition to the Pokemon lineup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really fun Pokemon game. I'm sure you've played the series before if you're picking this up and you'll enjoy this game just as much or more than any other recent Pokemon game. If this is your first Pokemon game you're picking a great point to start off at. Really fun game.

Best Pokemon Game Yet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokemon Y (and its companion game, Pokemon X) are the best installments in the series. The introduction is swift and lacks the length and cumbersome hand-holding of previous entries. Players are quickly immersed into the world and sent out to catch Pokemon within minutes. As for the cast of cutesy creatures, many of the series' most recognizable Pokemon are featured right from the beginning alongside new and ever more exotic monsters. The new Mega-Evolution mechanic brings new things to learn and see from long standing fan favourite Pokemon, appealing to new players and longtime fans alike. Visually, it's a fantastic art style with a new anime stylized focus that sets it apart from past entries. Lastly, the title makes good use of Internet features in a way that doesn't seem overly intrusive to gameplay. You can trade Pokemon online, either with friends or strangers. Unfortunately, there are a few negatives. For example, the 3d effect isn't available all the time and is instead relegated to mostly the combat portions of the game. Thus, the frequent swaps could be jarring. Also, the game is designed to be accessible for a wide variety of ages, so the writing is simplistic and the difficulty isn't very high, so don't expect much of a challenge. This game is nearly identical to its sister title Pokemon X, but there are a few Pokemon exclusive to this title that aren't available in the other. If you're looking to catch them all, you'll need to team up with a friend who has the other game, or trade on the Internet powered global trading system.

New Generation, New Graphics, I'm Sold
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've started playing pokemon since I got blue version back when I was a kid. Then I added Red and Yellow to my collection. Gold, Silver and Crystal; check, check, check. Alas, I stopped there but now that I got a 3ds, I decided to jump right back into it even though I skipped a few generation. Storyline is the same as every pokemon game. Characters, pokemon and maps always change but everything still follows the same fun plot line. Still learning all the new things like nature, breeding and amibo? Definitely worth the purchase if you're a pokemon fan. Also, you get upgraded from using a bike to ROLLER SKATES! Oh the 90's!!

Gotta Catch Em' All!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game takes me back to my days of Red and Blue while adding so much more than just new Pokemon to the series. The addition of roller-skates for traveling is brilliant! The story has some "feels" moments in there as well as new and exciting gym battles. I can't say much more without spoiling the game though!

Awesome Pokemon Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've played pokemon previously, it's pretty much more of the same, but that is not a bad thing. The pokemon formula has always been fun for me for the past 20 years and will continue to be fun for the foreseeable future. Mega evolutions are interesting, but I'm actually not a big fan of them. The world is enjoyable to explore and catch em all. Story is so so, but honestly most pokemon stories have never been that deep. All in all, if you like pokemon you will like this game and if you have never played a pokemon game go ahead and pick it up because you will probably enjoy it.
