I have the same problem, i bought the laptop last week and suddently no more sound, the sound problem occured after some recent updates! I tried to reinstall the audio driver from the hp website but nothing seems to work. Looks like a defective model. I'll return the laptop
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just helped a co-worker with this issue. After many tries to update the driver, searching for new drivers, etc., we found that there are two audio drivers installed on this model laptop. It may be a conflict causing the issue. The laptop shows the Intel driver as the Audio driver but if you go to Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, you will see the RealTek High Definition Audio Driver installed as well. I uninstalled the RealTek High Definition Audio Driver (it can easily be downloaded again if needed), and the sound started working normally. It's a low-risk fix and worth a try for anyone having the issue. Good luck.

They referred me to Microsoft support to get a link for a patch until a new update is sent out. Microsoft support tried to make it a Skype issue. They did finally take a look at the drivers and updated one. Did it fix it? It worked while they were on the phone with me. I guess I will see if it stays fixed.

She said this: Agent Jeopard: Yes, that is correct. This is a worldwide issue on Windows 10 update. 3:53 P.M. Agent Jeopard: We still didn't hear anything from Microsoft and we are just helping our customers out in doing some troubleshooting on the computer. Usually, they do update the drivers and trying to uninstall and install it. Somehow, mostly works and few are not. If you really want to know about this issue, you can contact Microsoft directly via official website or they contact numbers at 1-800-642-7676. 4:01 P.M.
