“Is the webcam on this really bad, as in the resolution, or do i have a defective unit? I tested the control+g game recorder and it was really bad resolution and lines all over, my bros 10 year old hp is much clearer.”

Check your settings and update your camera driver if possible and reboot. Also try using the built-in webcam software from Windows to test it out, narrow down the possibilities, but it is possible your webcam is faulty and needs to be replaced.
