• Not sure. My old one the clip that close the case broke but it still worked.

• That's right, in a pinch you can rubberband it together to get the watch to charge.

• Even with crack on top of case, as long as the backside is intact and clean (point where nodes touch charging nodes) the watch should charge without problem.
