It runs consecutive with the manufacturers warranty but you can take it to the store for drop off repair instead of having to deal with the manufacturer. Then they can deal with the manufacturer for you.

I think that’s a great thing, because the Geek Squad warranty covers damage from electrical storms. Our situation was that our new TV was damaged by lightning & the manufacturer did not cover weather-related problems. The Geek Squad diagnosed and eventually replaced the TV with a new one. Then, we chose to purchase new Geek Squad coverage on the new TV and only paid a small pro-rated fee after getting credit for the unused portion of the coverage from the “deceased” set. It was a “win-win!!”
