I was in your same situation. When I bought it i asked for the accidental plan. When i called to ask about replacement they said what i bought was just basically an extended warranty. Sorry you were misguided as well.

When I was purchasing the tv, the associate told me that if I went outside and dropped the tv or even took a hammer to it in front of their face, the warranty would cover it. Low and behold when the screen was damaged in a move a year later, it did not. The TV warranty doesn't do much for you, and it's honestly not worth paying for.
