We offer select microwaves that must be installed using the trim kit when choosing to build the unit into a wall or cabinet. These kits are required and optional. This means we don't recommend installing these units as a built-in without the kit and it is optional because it doesn't come with the microwave since many of these microwaves can be used simply placed on your countertop. -Vikki@GEAppliances
