You need a wifi connection to download games. Most are free but they have some you must pay for like Ticket to Ride (A favorite of mine). There are no movies to download as of now and not sure if there will ever be any. There are a couple of usb ports on the machine but not sure if you could use them to hook up a device to play movies and youtube or not. Nevertheless the machine hss been a big hit in my household. They add games to dload from time to time . Its my favorite peice od furniture.
