According to the HDMI spec, cable distances should not exceed 45' between devices. Don't count your switcher as a device in this case. For instance, if you are plugging your Blu-Ray player into the switcher and then plug the switcher into the TV, the TOTAL combined length of the two cables should not exceed 45 feet.
