I had that problem with two other switches with four devises plugged in. When I moved to the Rocketfish the proble stopped

If you switch different ports before you receive signal from the device your using, it doesn't happen. It was happening to me when I was sending signal before sending to said pet.

Mine works great. I recently bought it at Bestbuy. I have not had that problem.
