“Audio output? Sorry for the noob question, but wondering if the Rocketfish will solve my needs. I am wanting to run XBox 360, PS4, and Directv. My display is a projection TV....Optoma Projector onto a 96" screen. Hence, I have no native sound. For audio I currently use an outdated late 90s Kenwood model surround sound system. with the Rocketfish, am I able to plug in the three HDMI sources and then output the sound to, say, a sound bar if I wanted to get rid of the old surround system? Thanks for helping an old man out!!!”

I love questions like this. You would need to choose a sound bar with an HDMI input, then you could run the output of the switch to the input of a splitter, then from that to the sound bar and projector. Some sound bars have both HDMI input and output, in which case you wouldn't need a splitter.

If there is an audio output on the projector, even if there's no native sound, you should be able to hook up the surround sound to that. I have my HDMI running to my HDMI TV and then I've had a soundbar connected to the TV and that's worked just fine.
