• Yes will play bluray movies on dvd. You don't worry about that problem

• It's almost certainly been locked to region 1 (north America). Programs used to remove region codes and zones are available though. It works for a duplicate that you would burn as a backup copy of the original disc. There is more good news: 4k movies aren't region locked, at least not yet.

• I live in the U.S. and all my media is U.S. format. Haven't seen anything in the paper instructions or in-machine menu about other countries so I wouldn't count on it being compatible.
