A:AnswerYou don't pay extra for it being Roku. You do have to pay for channels though.. like you would buy HBO, Netflix and Hulu. You can subscribe to lots of different channels. And the remote is a Roku remote, but you can download the Roku application on your smart phone or tablet and this will serve as a remote as well.
A:AnswerAnother choice is to use Sony's - 5.1-Channel Soundbar System with 6.3" Wireless Subwoofer And Digital Amplifier which has one HDMI ARC output (which connects to the TV' s HDMI ARC input) and 3 other HDMI inputs which is where your Blu-ray player, DirecTV satellite box and/or one other component would connect to via HDMI cable. Probably need one of Logitech's universal remote controls which can be programmed to do multiple operations with one button.
A:AnswerIt does have a clock, accessible on the main menu or you can set a analog or digital clock as a your screensaver. But it does not have an alarm at this time, possibly can come later in future software updates.
