Unfortunately I have not hooked up the system yet. BUT.... being a sound guy (professional) typically going direct gives a SLIGHT more definitive sound. Usually base gets a little more profound. But honestly, most people will not even recognize a difference. As far as the Bose system goes , I cannot speak directly about it. They make high quality products and that is why I stick with Bose. I will suggest that if the Bluetooth works for you , USE IT. I will be. Hope this helps.

Wireless connectivity is still very effective however, and the lack of long wires for the rear surround speakers is it's own advantage. Have a great day! Best Regards, Greg - Bose Support
