It depends on what is covered under the manufacturer's warranty -- some Geek Squad coverage goes beyond standard "replacement" warranties found with some items.

First of all the manufacture warranty means that you have to call the manufacturer and then you have to hold that they honor their warranty. Assuming they do they’re probably going to send a person out to your home. God only knows when that’s going to happen then you have to hope they can fix it and you have to hope they have the parts nine out of 10 times I’ll make up some excuse as to why they can’t fix it. This is why the warranty with the geek squad is 1000 times better. for all major appliances, I buy the five year warranty the way it was explained to me is that anything happens to it anything at all they either fix it or they replace it that it. done, finished. So it’s not really the same warranty that you’re getting with the manufacturer and that’s why it starts the day that you buy it because it’s a completely different warranty it’s night and day.
