UV-C is far more energetic/damaging to skin & eyes than UV-A/UV-B. Most casual eyewear are not even rated for UV-C protection, because the thickness of our planetary atmosphere blocks 100% of UV-C coming from the sun at ground level. This wand radiates UV-C at close range. There is no way for air molecules to provide any nearby UV-C absorbtion. Likewise, UVA/UVB blocking casual eyewear doesn't even pretend to block UV-C. Only certified UV-C blocking protective eyewear will protect against nearby UV-C light. If your "reading glasses" are rated to block 100% of UV-C, then they'll do. That said, eyewear alone will not protect the uncovered skin of your face. UV-C exposure can cause skin damage that might not become apparent until days after exposure. Please be safe. Hope this helps.
