I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would get a regular laptop computer (Acer makes inexpensive basic computers that work perfectly fine) and a copy of Office 2013 for Students rather than a chromebook.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on what he needs for his homework. Can he use Google Docs? Does he need to do basic video editing? If the answer to the first is no or the answer to the second is yes, you can take a look at crouton (https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton). You may need to have your favorite neighborhood geek come and help you. Crouton installs a full linux environment, where you can use WINE to install Microsoft Office. For photo editing, I recommend GIMP (powerful, not necessarily user friendly), for audio editing I recommend Audacity, and for video I recommend OpenShot. Again, I recommend that you speak with your local neighborhood tech support. I hope this answers your question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely. As long as you have an internet connection it is the perfect homework computer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I bought it just for that use for my thirteen-year-old son. He uses Google Drive to do papers/presentations and because files are stored in the Cloud, he can access his work from any internet-accessing computer, tablet or phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
