• I used a standard HDMI cable to connect with an older HP PC and it detected the monitor without a problem.

• It can be the cable, yes. Also if you are using an adapter that can be the cause too. If you are using a direct connection and have tried more than one HDMI cable, please contact Acer support for assistance at 866-695-2237.
