• Yes, this laptop has USB for a keyboard/mouse and HDMI to connect a monitor. Also you can use a wireless mouse and keyboard as well. You need to check the connections you need for the devices you want to connect to the laptop.

• No problem. Since you obviously have no experience with a laptop, be aware that you will have to make an adjustment to the Power settings if you want to keep the computer in the "closed" position, since laptops are all preset to go into "Sleep" mode when the lid is down.
