• Chromebooks do not include a built in optical drive. You can, however, connect an external USB CD/DVD drive to read data files (like photos or documents) from a disc. Chromebooks generally cannot play movie DVDs or audio CDs, nor can they burn discs, as they are designed for streaming services..
