Unless you want to run in Developer Mode and follow some complex steps on the web (complex for most users who aren't tinkerers anyway,) the best way to run Microsoft 365 on this device is to use it in the web browser through office.com. The Microsoft Office apps do not work on Chromebooks (this isn't because it can't run it but because Google wants you to use their Office suite with Docs/Sheets/Slides instead on their device) but they can be run as WebApps and these actually work really well as long as you have a decent internet connection.
