This is a Chromebook that runs the Chrome operating system, not a Windows laptop. Acer offers many Windows laptops that include Windows 10 in S mode, and those without the S mode. You can opt out of S mode easily and without any fee. Instructions on how to do this are readily available by doing an Internet search on how to opt out of S mode.
