Yes, it is an option shown in the menu, but since I am connected via HDMI to a 16:9 laptop, it is grayed out.

Please try again later.Yes, but... if you prefer to use the 4:3 aspect ratio I suggest going with a square screen format monitor rather than wide screen. 17" & 19" sizes are still made & BB has a few to choose from, so it's not like your limited to buying some used piece of c*** That I said, if you do choose to purchase a wide screen, there are a variety of screen resolutions to choose from - best choice's will be had using VGA or DVI inputs. HDMI is more suited to higher resolutions. Screen resolutions are adjusted with your computers' graphics card drivers not the monitor, goto control panel -> display settings & adjust accordingly.
