As long as the laptop has a VGA, DVI, or HDMI port it should work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This monitor has a VGA input, HDMI input, and DVI input. Most computers will have one or more of these capabilities VGA is the lowest quality among the three, so I do not recommend using it. Good news is that the monitor comes with an HDMI cable included. If you want to use HDMI and your PC does not have HDMI, there are relatively inexpensive adapters to convert from other outputs on the PC. Laptops usually have mini HDMI outputs or mini DVI or mini display port The HDMI cable that comes with it is standard size on both ends.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just pay attention to what the outputs are from your Alienware video card (and what the monitor will accept - there are differences). I have an Alienware x51 and it has 3x display port, 1x HDMI, 1x DVI. I hooked the computer HDMI to this monitor HDMI and it works perfectly - the monitor even sleeps automatically when the x51 does. You can get special cables too - Since the computer only has one HDMI output - I bought a DVI to HDMI cable for a second monitor (8 bucks) from the same x51 and that works fine too.

However, unlike the TV, the monitor does not have speakers. It just has a stereo output jack on the back to plug a speaker system into.
