This is an edge illuminated monitor, thus it only possesses a low "HDR400" rating. The monitor is not capable of bright HDR effects. Only more expensive monitors using either OLED panels or Full Array Local Dimming (Mini LED) illumination, offer bright HDR effects.

Please try again later.Obviously it's not going to be like thousand nit brightness HDR It's not going to be like real real HDR but it's decent it's not bad but it's not as good as say you bought a $1,200 monitor and saw the HDR on that. But no it's okay and gets the brightness high enough to get the HDR 400 standard and that's all that matters. Other than that if you want better HDR you're spending at least $700 minimum and even then their HDR isn't as good as the ones that cost around $1,000
