Memory is upgradeable to 32GB using two memory sticks, and yes you can use an external USB hdd if you want more space. While Acer does not test third party software we would recommend you check that the computer meets the system requirements of the application/game to determine if it will work. You can also go to the Acer Community online where there are many users that offer suggestions and advice on the Acer products.
