This system is designed exclusively for fast M.2 NVMe SSDs. The motherboard does have three M.2 slots for adding more NVMe SSD storage. Since the factory-installed SSD already uses the PCIe 4.0 interface, any additional M.2 SSDs you install should also be PCIe 4.0 compatible to match the speed.
