• absolutely... I've got mine connected to a MacBook air 13" with a mini-port to HDMI connector, plugged in and worked immediately. But this monitor will support SVGA or DVI as well, so whatever adapter you have should work quite well. The mac adjusted automatically to the wide screen.

• There's no specified formats on monitors, as long as your MacBook can connect through DVI, HDMI, or even VGA you'll be all set to use the monitor for that purpose!
