The included heat sink is compatible for use in the PS5 without any modification. Peel the backing, install the heat sink onto the drive, then install the drive into the spare slot of the PS5. It does NOT require leaving the drive cover off for it to fit.

No need to get a different heat sink. This one is extremely thin and fits perfectly inside the ps5’s expansion slot.

This drive works great with the PS5. The included heat sink is thin, but fortunately this Ssd doesn’t operate excessively hot either when testing in my pc before installing into my console.
