“Just purchased this light and it is very nice. However, the color lights on the bottom are very hard to turn off. Is mine defective or is this normal? Also, we can manually change the colors, but they don't rotate through on their own. Should they?”

My lights at base don't rotate on their own either. There is a little white sign right under the on/off button that turns on or off the bottom lights with just a simple touch. Once you find the right little sign that is printed on the circle of color, it turns on & off very easily.
