I purchased in store. The box had a "redemption code" on a card in the box. You go to a web site mentioned on the card, enter the "redemption code". the system then returns a serial number for both Elements and premier which are used during the installation. the card says you can reuse the redemption code to get you serial numbers if you ever need to reinstall you software. I have not tried that yet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is no box. You get a code that you enter online . You must go to adobe's web site to down load the software. You must connect to the internet on a regular basis to keep it current and working. I dpn't think that you must be connected to use the programs but you must connect regularly to keep them working.
