Aeropex has an IP67 waterproof rating meaning they can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes; however, we do not recommend Aeropex for swimming. All Bluetooth devices use 2.4GHz radio frequency—which does not work well in water. This is due to laws of physics, as water molecules attenuate the signal; when any Bluetooth device is put underwater, the range is just few inches. We designed our Xtrainerz model with this in mind, fully understanding the limits of Bluetooth capability, that is why the Xtrainerz is MP3 capable only.
