Yes. I used it on an above ground pool. It cleaned the sides as well.

It has picked up everything from leaves to the small pool toys like a little sharks that the kids used to throw in. It sucks up everything. I haven’t used it on the walls because I didn’t need to, but the bottom of the pool is amazing. It picks up everything.
