Battery life in 2k 60fps is about 2 hours. Remote control or wifi on your smartphone can be used in recording content. AKASO will work standalone without a battery if using an charger.

You can squeeze a bit more from them by using the screensaver feature to turn off the screen while recording and a few other techniques. And yes, you can plug them into an external battery for longer run times. I'm using a large external GoPro style mounted battery with mine and have had them run for more than 5 hours. I was limited because the card could only capture about 6 hours of video. The caveat to the external battery is you have to leave the door open on the camera which prevents you from using the waterproof enclosure and also takes away the weather resistant properties of the camera while the door is open. I've used a silicone putty on mine with decent results so it can be used in light rain. As for wifi, yes, sort of. There is an option for the camera to be a wifi hot spot for control but not in that it could join a wifi connection. It needs the Akaso Go app to control the camera over wifi and when controlling the camera you lose internet/cell data service.
