• Can be both. You can change it in the settings but i suggest hooking up a solar charger for continuous recording as the battery will not last long.

• For viewing, the cameras are always displayed Live on the 7" touchscreen monitor. By default, recording is set to motion detection. But if you would like to have recording 24/7, you can do that also. Just need to go into Settings menu to change. But since recording 24/7 is a lot of video, you will probably want to record to a portable USB hard drive instead of the included SD card. The system supports up to a 2TB USB HDD.
