two of them will fit a full size 2280 m.2 drive. the third one only holds a 2240 size m.2 on the 15" laptop. the 17" holds a 2230 as its 3rd one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a single open SSD slot in the system. I added a 1TB Samsung 980 SSD to the system. There is no extra copper heatsink cover like you will find on the original SSD. The system did have a difficult time recognizing the SSD at first. I had to remove the SSD and re-seat it before the system recognized the drive. I have no idea why. The original connection was secure. Adding new parts can be a challenge sometimes. The SSD is formatted and working as expected. I use the 1TB drive for most of my games and have had no issues other than what I reported above. I included a screenshot from Samsung's Magician software. As you can see, the Samsung benched slightly slower than the drive the shipping drive. Hope this helps answer your question.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, 2 slots are for 2280's up to 2 TB each and one slot for a 2230 up to 512GB. On the 2280 slots it will allow you to set up a RAID 0 or 1 arrangement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it has two additional slots available. There's a third slot, but it doesn't appear to have a connection to the motherboard. But the other two are for additional nvme ssds.
