Answer The ram is soldered. Would be a very difficult job to desolder.. find another compatible ram chip... and resolder. If even possible at all. The ram is consider NON-Upgradable.

Answer Yes the ram is soldered directly to the motherboard. Not able to upgrade. You would have to order it with more ram which would be a custom build from Dell or upgrade the entire motherboard.
