“This appears to be a fairly complete machine except the only reference to anything audio related is an HDMI connection to external speakers. If that is so, what kind would meet the minimal requirement and still be acceptable to an average audiophile?”

This system supports external speaker connectivity through HDMI, S/PDIF jack and Headphone jack. Any speaker with the above mentioned connectivity will work with the systems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t know about audiophile’s needs but it does have interior speakers that are loud and clear. It’s a laptop so it’s not going to have BOSE sound quality or the like but it’s good for games.
