Sadly its the gen 3. Just like you would expect gen 4 in such a top of the line device, you would expect the advertised Win11 but may be disappointed on that too when its not included. .

From my research, SSD 1 (populated with the 1TB gen 3 SSD from the factory) is gen 4 and SSD 2 (empty from the factory) is only gen 3. Should be able to swap the bay and use a gen 4 on SSD 1. I have not tested this myself as I do not have a gen 4 SSD yet, but Mash IT on YouTube did and it worked well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both are Gen 4 capable but from my understanding, only one can take advantage of Gen 4 Speeds if you have 2 Gen 4 SSD's installed. I ended up installing my Gen 4 SSD on the main one that has the heat sink. Just to be on the safe side I recommend using the slot that has the heat sink for your Gen 4 SSD. It helps keep it cool down since Gen 4 SSD's can get hot at full load like video editing work.
