Hello Patrick, I have purchased the basic Kardia Mobile strictly to track my heart rate at my doctor’s suggestion (the other option was spending 400. To 500. On an Apple Watch) so in terms of your question, it can track blood pressure which can lead to hardening of the arteries. At least, that is my understanding- and then that can lead to dementia, again, my understanding. Not necessarily, Alzheimer’s. Whether the use of this product would be useful, quite frankly, you would probably get more of a benefit from a good digital blood pressure cuff. Don’t smoke, limit your alcohol, eat a healthy diet, and take a walk several days per week. Play word games, too or take up knitting to keep your brain active. Take a college course! Good luck!

If doctors have been using an EKG (or ECG) with you for other purposes then maybe it would help. Newer Apple watches have a similar function but I haven’t used it to compare against. If your hands tremble (it seems it can be other parts of the body if I understand correctly) this may be tough to get a reading. Hopefully this helps.
