Does not matter this is a powered sub. The internal amp is correctly matched to the speaker included. You would either use the RCA input if your head unit has RCA out, or tap into your speaker leads (as shown in directions) since this connects to a electrical circuit not and inductive (speaker) your good no diminished sound from your speakers.
