• Yes, the frame needs to be connected to wifi for you to sent pictures to you via your phone. Once it is saved to the internal memory, you can run the slideshow without wifi.

• This particular frame requires WiFi in order to upload photos. This company makes another frame that uploads photos from a memory stick that you could send to her , but someone would have to help her upload the photos. Hope this helps you.
