• Absolutely not. If it "technically does" through the bluetooth spec, it still sounds like junk. This transmitter is VERY noisy. Static and ticking. It is not what you want for hi-fi by any means.

• one of the answers says you hear ticking and other issues. to solve that problem, try looking at a "ground loop isolator". There are ones that have a headphone jack "pass-through" meaning that you wire one end to the headphone jack on the tv (or other NON bluetooth device) then the other to the bluetooth transmitter like the one in this page.
