If you're looking for an inexpensive "plug in & never have to bother with" blue-tooth transmitter and you sit within 6-8 feet of the TV into which this transmitter is plugged, then this Aluratek may fit the bill for you & is the least expensive available at BestBuy. I used it for 6 months with 2 different headsets paired to it in its memory (so I could be charging one headset while listening to the other). I never had any problems with its connecting to my headsets when desired after they'd been paired. My biggest disappointment (& why it did not "fit the bill" for me) was I can't move around anywhere in my room; as soon as I move 2' from my chair (in which I sit while watching the small TV in my room, mostly when I'm sick or suffering), reception is very poor (totally gone within another couple feet). There is a slight delay since it is plugged into the TV's headphones input (not so when given other options as with the MEE 2 headphone BT Transmitter, which is what I use now...twice as expensive but worth it to me in my use of the transmitter), but I wasn't even aware of the slight delay until I'd bought the different, better BT transmitter. The Aluratek comes with a USB power cord for charging. I have so many USB plugs from prior cell phones & other Android devices, that I used one with the cord & kept it plugged in 24/7 so that I never had to worry about running out of charge at a most inopportune time during a movie. I much prefer the MEE audio dual headphone BT transmitter & recommend it instead of this device if you ever might want 2 sets of BT headphones plugged in or prefer to have no delay (comes with TOSLINK digital optical SPDIF audio cable [best latency for least delay between video & audio], 3.5mm audio cable [worst latency], 3.5mm to RCA adapter, all 3 of which come with each MEE transmitter...so know what inputs you have on your TV & consider every situation in which you are likely to be listening to your TV via BT before buying a transmitter to make the best informed decision. The MEE costs about twice as much but is even easier to reconnect headsets (quite automatic) and offers the significantly better latency & range (I can now move freely about my room without diminished quality of sound, even down the hall a good 50+' from the transmitter before the reception gets bad or is lost) over the Aluratek Bluetooth Audio Transmitter [ The MEE BT Transmitter can be found at https://www.bestbuy.com/site/mee-audio-connect-universal-dual-headphone-bluetooth-audio-transmitter-for-tv-black/5471900.p?skuId=5471900 ]

Once you have a Bluetooth transmitter, you will be hooked. My prior transmitter died on me due to a broken wire from the device to the RCA jack. I made the mistake of taking it with me on vacation instead of leaving it hooked into the television where it worked for almost 3 years. I needed a substitute immediately and could not wait to order online so I went straight to Best Buy. The clerk said there were none in the store but the web site said there was. When I found it and reported back to the clerk, he said he wasn't counting that because it got a lot of returns. Being familiar with the product in general, I knew it was an easy bet to buy the product. Purchased. So the product works fine. A little less costly than my prior devise. But strangely it has better audio. The instructions say to turn on my headphones first and the Bluetooth transmitter second. But thus far it has turned on both ways. I don't feel confident leaving it plugged in continuously like my prior transmitter because it seems to turn itself on when plugged in, with the light blinking red/blue. The devise works fine and still syncs but I'm guessing it probably won't last over 2 years like my prior transmitter. As far as the superior audio. That was not the case in the beginning. I was running the transmitter while it was plugged in. There was some noticeable but ignorable white noise in the background. When I unplugged the devise the interference stopped and the audio was clear with no lag. However with some of my marathon TV viewing sessions, I just might have to put up with the white noise to avoid running out of power. And while the audio tops my prior devise, the range does not. If I go to the doorway to do pullups (don't judge) , the devise cuts out. My prior devise would not cut out even if I went to the bathroom . . . and closed the door . . . One other thing, the RCA cord is short, and because this devise was turning on by itself when plugged in, I decided to get and extension. Now the devise hangs just below the TV and I can see what's what. I'm more a functionality guy an not an esthetics guy, so no issues. Bottom line, I am happy customer, I love listening to TV with my wireless headphones and the house is a much quieter place. Everyone wins.

Bought this to use with a projector for an outdoor movie night and was very impressed with the fidelity, range, and battery life this item gives but it does have some short falls. The first night our speaker was a little lacking volume wise for outdoor use as the aluratek does not have an independent volume adjustment. Loudness or softness was achieved through the projector's volume control and even with the older soundfreaq bluetooth speaker at near max it was not adequate for outdoor use. So, for the next evening we upgraded to a jbl charge speaker for louder volume. However, then the versions of bluetooth on the aluratek and the jbl were not compatable and therefore was not able to get the transmitter to link up with the new speaker. We then had to return this bluetooth transmitter and exchange it for the aluratek model that transmits, receives, and has volume adjustment on the device itself, as that model has a compatable bluetooth version for the jbl charge, success at last. I would consider battery life to be excellent for both models as they lasted through two movies each night and seemed to be still going strong. In conclusion, if the device you are using to supply signal to the transmitter has sufficent power for louder volumes and your speaker will link up, this is a great little device.

Product works as advertised, I did have some trouble getting it connected to my bluetooth headset. The transmitter doesn't have a screen, so you simply need to hold down the button while your headset is also looking to be paired with another device. As far as I can tell, you can only have one bluetooth device connected at a time. I keep it plugged in most of the time, however, once it had been plugged in for about a day, I was able to transport it and it functioned properly. I have seen some other users complain that there was a bit of delay with the sound, I did not experience that. I have this device connected to my TV. I have worn it to watch sporting events, TVshows, movies, and play video games. It works great in allowing me to wear comfortable headphones while not disturbing anyone else in my home. I gave it 4 stars because of the process in getting the headphones and the transmitter to pair up, it took more than 5 minutes for the devices to find each other. Once they did find each other, they worked great

bought this transmitter to pair with my Sony wh-1000xm2 headphones. did not work.the staff at Bangor helpfully replaced first set with another.that didn't work . took that back in the evening. again, staff very helpfully told me,"those almost never work," here is what you need. a MEE Audio wireless transmitter. cost twice as much but by this time i just want to watch the football playoff games. I could pair this transmitter to the head set but no sound would be transmitted to the headset. After hearing all this, bangor store sends a Geek Squad rep. to troubleshoot the problem. No Charge ! after a long time between the two of them got sound to those headphones. Then proceeded to tell me that that the $350.00 headphones were not meant for use with a tv. which by the way was was exactly what they sold them to my wife to do. Oh, i'm sorry the review was supposed to be about the Aluratek transmitter. answer : junk

We bought this to attach to our bedroom tv. The thought was to connect a small Bluetooth speaker up to it so my husband could watch TV while I’m sleeping and the sound wouldn’t wake me up. The device has to be charged nightly, which we sometimes forget to do, which means it only gets used half the time. We have to pair it up to the speaker each time we want to use it. And in the middle of the night, after the tv timer has turned the tv off and everyone is asleep, the darn think starts flashing a very bright blue light. I’m not sure if it’s because the tv is off or the battery is wearing down. Either way, I still have to get out of bed and power the device down, which negates the whole reason for buying it - me being able to sleep! I’ll give it 3 stars because it has worked for our needs some nights, which is better than none.

I bought this bluetooth transmitter and a set of bluetooth headphones to watch movies at night with better sound quality and without disturbing anyone. It took a couple of tries to get them to pair, but that was because I didn't read the instructions. After reading the instructions it was easy to pair the transmitter and headphones. The sound was great, but I noticed a slight delay that caused the speaking to be slightly out of sync. I returned the headphones because they were too heavy. I bought a cheap pair of Jam Transits because they are smaller and lighter. After pairing the Jam Transits I noticed that the audio delay was gone. The picture and sound were exactly in sync and when I watch a person talking on the tv the sound is exactly in sync with the person talking. So I think the other headphones must have caused the audio delay and not the transmitter. I am very happy with the purchase and now enjoying movies at night with a full rich theater sound that is perfectly in sync with the picture.

      Don't Use with TV headphones

      Disappointed

Purchased this device and two Bose wireless headsets upon the recommendation of salesperson. I wanted to use two Bose wireless headsets while my wife and I are watching TV. The device was easy to install and sync with the headsets. Here's the problem: You CANNOT use two headsets at the same time. One links fine but when you turn the other headset on, you get the message: "cannot find the bluetooth link." I specifically asked the sales person if you could use both headsets with one transmitter and the answer was affirmative. The other big problem is that there is a delay between the audio and video signals with the video lagging a fraction of a second behind. In other words, the sound you hear and the person's lips on the TV are not in synchronization. This was driving us crazy so I'm bringing the transmitter along with the two Bose headsets to Best Buy tomorrow. Having spent over $500 for the three items, I am quite disappointed. I had so much confidence in the salesman's recommendation.
