When I used it on my vehicle, it only plays media audio, no phone or messenger calls. 
But, my car also only connects to my phone for calls only, no Bluetooth media function, so it balances out for me.

If you have a headphone port on your phone, one that you can plug regular headphones with a mini plug into, it would work if you can plug a Bluetooth receiver into your car deck. You would need a mini plug in the deck and a Bluetooth receiver to plug in. Have you tried an FM Transmitter setup for the car?
